Overall, readers appear open to change, but remain split on how closely the monarchy should remain tied to countries seeking greater independence.

King Charles III is a published children’s author. Long before he became king, Charles turned one of the stories he used to tell his younger brothers, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Prince Edward, into a book called The Old Man of Lochnagar.

The story follows an old man who lives in a cave near Lochnagar, a mountain on the Balmoral estate in Scotland. Charles reportedly began telling the tale to his brothers when they were children and eventually developed it into a book. This was published in 1980, making Charles a published author decades before he became monarch. 📕
